Scammers are posing as financial representatives to steal personal and financial information. Knowing the warning signs can help you stay protected.
Warning Signs of Impersonation Scams
- Unsolicited requests for personal details – MSIG will never ask for your passwords, or PINs via calls, emails, or messages.
- Urgent payment demands – Fraudsters may pressure you to transfer money to unknown accounts. Always verify before making any transactions.
- Suspicious links and attachments – In general, do not click on links in unsolicited messages or emails. Our Agents/Financial Advisors/Telemarketing staff will only send Payment Links using our official email domains and registered SMS IDs.
- Caller ID spoofing – Scammers may use phone numbers that appear legitimate. If in doubt, hang up and contact MSIG directly.
- Poorly written messages – Be cautious of messages with unusual grammar, spelling mistakes, or generic greetings.
