Protect Yourself from Impersonation Scams

19 Mar 2025

Scammers are posing as financial representatives to steal personal and financial information. Knowing the warning signs can help you stay protected.

Warning Signs of Impersonation Scams

  • Unsolicited requests for personal details – MSIG will never ask for your passwords, or PINs via calls, emails, or messages.
  • Urgent payment demands – Fraudsters may pressure you to transfer money to unknown accounts. Always verify before making any transactions.
  • Suspicious links and attachments – In general, do not click on links in unsolicited messages or emails.  Our Agents/Financial Advisors/Telemarketing staff will only send Payment Links using our official email domains and registered SMS IDs.
  • Caller ID spoofing – Scammers may use phone numbers that appear legitimate. If in doubt, hang up and contact MSIG directly.
  • Poorly written messages – Be cautious of messages with unusual grammar, spelling mistakes, or generic greetings.

How to Stay Safe

  • Always verify communications through official MSIG channels, such as email, customer service hotlines.
  • Report suspicious calls, messages, or emails to MSIG immediately.
  • Stay updated on the latest scam tactics by checking MSIG’s website or official announcements.

If you suspect a scam, contact MSIG’s customer service at [email protected].
