Accidents have a ripple effect. Are you prepared for what happens next?

Accidents happen
Perhaps you’re on a step ladder and lose your balance. Or you get tackled at soccer and you hear a sickening crunch. Or you’re thinking of work and don’t see the speeding cyclist on collision course with you on the footpath. Even minor accidents may have significant repercussions.
Being injured in an accident can turn your life upside down. A big part are the bills for emergency care, scans, surgery and hospitalisation. Fortunately, a portion of these costs are covered by MediShield or an Integrated Shield plan. The amount claimed under medical insurance has to take into account a deductible and co-payment, which can be covered by a personal accident plan. As such, medical insurance is often complemented by a personal accident plan.
Supporting your recovery every step of the way
Depending on your injuries, being discharged from the hospital may be just the start of your recovery. Recovery can be a long and arduous journey requiring different procedures, such as follow-up consultations, rehab, physio, even further surgeries.
Plus, if you lose your mobility, whether permanently or temporarily, you would need a support system to help you adapt to your new situation.
That’s why MSIG has designed a personal accident plan that provides 360° support every step of the way in these key areas:

1. Coverage for death, disability and medical expenses
Singapore is among the world's most expensive cities and medical costs are continuing to rise.
While our healthcare is excellent, medical expenses can accumulate depending on the severity of your injuries. To have an idea about how much treatment for injuries can cost, you can reference the benchmark of hospital fees provided by the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, if inflation has had a big impact on your budgeting or if you have a growing family to provide for, it’s even more important to get coverage against a mishap.
With MSIG PA RecoveryPlus personal accident plan, you can choose from three tiers of coverage: Silver, Gold or Platinum. Coverage per policy year for permanent disability is up to $450,000 and up to $300,000 for third-degree burns. Hospital income is up to $150 per day, and includes payout for infectious diseases such as dengue, hand foot mouth disease, and food poisoning. There’s also cover for Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment.
This is just one part of the policy, showing the essential benefits of the plan.
